Principal s Page

I feel very fortunate to serve as Niji-Iro's Principal . Prior to working in Livonia Public Schools, I served as a middle school and elementary principal for six years, and I started my educational career as a classroom teacher and soccer coach. I earned my Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Michigan and Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Wayne State University.

Studies show that bilingual education has great cognitive, academic, personal, and professional benefits for students. We are one of only four Japanese/English immersion schools in the country, and the only one teaching Japanese Kokugo curriculum and Japanese Sansu Mathematics in addition to the Common Core State Standards..

I am overjoyed to be part of this wonderful bilingual community. Please feel free to contact me at ldeluca@livoniapublicschools.org or check out our Twitter page @NijiIroSchool for more information.

Sincerely,

Lawrence DeLuca
